September 9th, 1999....A nuclear explosion at waste disposal two flares, blowing the moon out of Earth's orbit.  Trapped at Moonbase Alpha, 230 Scientist and technicians are sent hurling into space on an uncontrolled course.

During the first hours before the Moonbase Alpha disastor, Astronauts training for the Meta Probe came down with a strange type of radiation sickness.  After analysing the symptoms, it was soon discovered the magnetic radiation from the waste disposal site one was giving out EMP's.  Commander Koening ordered the removal of the waste drums, but the disposal site exploded.  Soon hurried attempts to scatter the much larger waste disposal site two commenced.  But it was too late at plasma arcs started to fly before the large explosion.
